Topological superconductivity with mixed singlet-triplet pairing in moiré TMD bilayers

Published on March 9, 2024

We studied, in collaboration with the group of Michał Zegrodnik in Krakow, Poland, the possibility of correlation-induced superconductivity in twisted bilayer WSe2. Using a Gutzwiller approximation, we found a very unconventional superconducting order parameter: a mixed singlet-triplet p+ip d-id superconductor! Read more in our arXiv paper:

Update (July 2024): After we posted our theoretical manuscript there were two groups who independently reported on the experimental observation of superconductivity in twisted bilayer WSe2: 2405.14784 and 2406.03418. We are currently working on comparing their results to our theory!
