On March 15th, Dr. Giulia Venditti gave a talk for the Flat Club seminar series entitled “The struggle of 2d superconductors“. She discussed the practical challenges of observing the hallmarks of a Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless (BKT) transition in real 2d superconductors, where screening currents, correlations, and inhomogeneities can smear and even completely cover BKT signatures.
