Metal-Insulator Transitions and the “Fake insulator” regime

Published on April 21, 2023

At the Aspen Center of Physics I had the pleasure of giving a presentation during the “Novel States of Quantum Matter in Moiré Materials” conference. I talked about our ongoing (not yet published) work on band-tuned metal-insulator transitions. Part of this I presented last year, but it does contain some new insights. In particular, we have new results explaining Mooij correlations in disordered metals at high temperatures (200-1000 K), which surprisingly displays the same universal behavior as TMD moirés at intermediate temperatures (30-60 K).
