Presentation: Charge-transfer insulators in moiré materials

I’m very honored to have been invited to present at the “Zaanen-Fest” on 17-18 July 2023 in Leiden, The Netherlands. Jan Zaanen was my PhD supervisor, and this workshop with the title “Stripes, Planckian Dissipation and Quantum Supremacy” celebrates his many contributions to science.

I used this opportunity to discuss charge-transfer insulators in moiré materials: a new twist (haha) on the original Zaanen-Sawatzky-Allen scheme of charge-transfer insulators versus Mott-Hubbard insulators.
